A highlight of our travels in Scotland! It was wonderful to share Steve and Lea’s delight with their beautiful new home with its amazing location, and their enthusiasm is infectious! The way they have converted the house is fantastic, evrything is well thought through for optimal comfort and well-being. We particularly liked the huge high bed for the view, the enormous shower, the bathroom decor using pieces of driftwood and the beautifully presented linen. Breakfast with home-made bread and bread pudding was delicious! The location and views are as stunning as described – our only regret was that we could only spend one night there! Many thanks to both of you!

It was amazing! Everything about the house is just wonderful! Wonderful view, wonderful room, wonderful breakfast and especially: wonderful people! I had my Birthday at Steve’s and Lea’s place and I couldn’t have wished for a better location!

Steve and Lea are great hosts! They make you feel very welcome and their dog is a lovely cheerful thing!

The restaurants in the area and the landscapes are great too!

Summing up: We had an amazing time at your place that we’ll always remember! Your birthday card will be put up on our kitchen wall 🙂

Thank you for everything, hopefully we’ll come back in the future!

I cannot accurately describe what wonderful experience it was staying with Lea and Steve. Their home is just lovely and the views are breathtaking. It was a bit chilly for July but I think it added to the experience. The drive up to the B&B was a fun and breathtaking experience.

Such a great way to see the highlands area. The review of this place deserves 10 stars.

Without a doubt our best stay in Scotland! Steve and Lea are the most wonderful, ‘seize the day’ people we ever met! They made us feel so welcome in the far north of Scotland and pinpointed every piece of beauty we should visit during our (short) stay. We had a great walk to the (almost private ;)) beach and an astonishing sunset at the viewpoint right behind their house. Afterwards we slept like babies in the extra high bed (in order to fully enjoy the views) and perfect linnen (Thank you Lea!!!) Next to a great chitchat, Steve is also an experienced cook. The breakfast was ultra fresh, extensive and off course delicious. This stay is more than worth the trip via the ‘single track roads’ to a place you’ve never seen before.

Very friendly hosts, beautiful views and tasty bread. Many thanks to Steve and Lea and all the best up in the north!

July 2015

Steve and Lea were really welcoming. Their house is in a stunning area of the highlands. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore the northern Highlands. Steve prepared a wonderful breakfast for us in the morning. We had a lovely stay.

Lea and Steve are absolutely great hosts! Their house in Midtown, Talmine, at the very north coast of Scotland is in a very proper and modern condition with a very high standard concering everything (bedroom, bathroom, breakfast, …). The view from the guest bedroom is breathtaking. They made us feel at home.

We had a fantastic one night stay with Steve and Lea. The view is incredible, we wished we could have stayed longer! They’re house is lovely and everything you could want is provided, including fresh baked bread. Steve and Lea were great hosts, very friendly and willing to help. There is a great restaurant down the road as well.

The Talmine B&B was absolutely fantastic in every way. My friend and I did a road trip around Scotland, and had intended to stay in Durness but everything was booked so I found Steve and Leah’s place on Airbnb. It is very close to Durness and the area around Talmine is really beautiful. I genuinely regret that I didn’t book for more than 1 night. The view from the house is incredible, the room is extremely comfortable with coffee/tea/hot water heater/heater/etc. The breakfast was really fantastic – homemade bread!! We walked around the (maybe it’s a moor? or a bog?) behind the house and you could walk for miles and miles. It’s just gorgeous. There are really no words to describe how great an experience we had.

Wow – those views are real! And the house makes the most of them. We only stayed one night this time but would love to come back to the area and would definitely stay here again. Steve and Lea made us feel completely welcome and cared for. The room and bathroom are beautifully finished, we noticed lots of lovely little details – really good quality linens, welcome chocolates, every care taken over breakfast, local pub menus in the room – that made us feel pampered. And we had a couple of great walks in the area even in the limited time we had. Highly recommended.

Friendliest couple you will ever meet, they baked us bread and did our laundry for us! Lovely room with a great view of the mountains, would definitely recommend staying here!

First time using Air BnB and won’t be the last. Steve and Lea’s hospitality was exceptional and their knowledge of nature was really interesting to listen to. their stunning home interior made mostly by their own creative hands was a delight to see. And Steve’s homemade bread set of the delicious breakfast provided. All in all a memorable time was had and will definitely be back for a longer time to take in all the beautiful scenery of this piece of Scotland. thank you Steve n Lea x

A great place to stay on Kyle of Tongue and great value too: Steve and Lea are generous and sensitive hosts and their home is comfortable and artfully renovated. Attention to detail is second to none and the views from their home in Midtown looking across to Ben Loyal can be breathtaking. Add to that, a hotel serving decent seafood within walking distance (The Craggan Hotel Restaurant), a small shop also in walking distance in Talmine and numerous beaches, walks and activities and well, what’s not to like?

One of our best airbnb experiences ever ! Fantastic place, beautiful home and very nice and interesting hosts. Clever dog and delicious breakfast.

June 2015

Steve & Lea made us feel very welcome to their beautiful home

Spectacular views of the Kyle from our room

Lovely comfy bed with soft sheets – modern bathroom

Good knowledge of local walks and amenities

Breakfast isn’t to be missed – lots on offer including lovely home baked bread.

Highly recommend!

Très bon accueil et logement très confortable dans un site agreeable

June 2015

My Airbnb number 1 so far, and we had a lot of great ones on our Scotland trip. We spent a lot of time with Steve and Lea and their gentle dog, not only in their supercomfortable house which indeed offers a stunning view! They also took us for a walk along the beach, and we drank Steve’s homebrew ginger beer together. The breakfast was excellent, too, and so were our rooms and everything else!

June 2015

Steve and Lea was a wonderful couple. I enjoyed my stay and the conversations but I think the breakfast was the most impressive. Steve does an amazing job. The location is perfect for exploring northern highlands of Scotland and the views from the house are amazing as well. If you catch nice weather you can relax on the nice beaches in front of their house. Definitely worth a trip

MERCI !

Worth the distance to visit both the wonderful and stunning countryside, and this beautifully renovated house. Private ensuite, and huge and comfortable bed; we wondered why the bed was so high until we woke in the morning and saw the view out the window. You can stay in the comfort of the bed and observed the view. The hosts offered a breakfast that was served as if you were at an eclectic cafe. They both love the area and are keen to help you understand the various aspects of the croft landscape. Take the opportunity and visit. Brilliant.

Lea and Steve were great hosts. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. They have a charming, cosy and clean home. They put love in every detail. Their hospitality was amazing, they were always caring to make us feel comfortable and really helpful in every situation. The room really had a stunning view and the breakfast was delicious. We wish you all the best and hope to come back! Katharina & Ursula

Steve and Lea made both of us very welcome. The house is situated overlooking a magnificent Loch with a stunning views of the mountains and Loch from the bedroom window. The house, which they have rebuilt and refurbished is to a high standard and the bed was very comfortable. They are both very good hosts. Thank you for letting us stay.

June 2015

It’s tempting to start off by talking about how stunning the surroundings are at Steve and Lea’s (and they are) but it just wouldn’t be what it is without such a gracious, welcoming, charming couple behind it all. We were smiling from the time we pulled in until the time we drove away (right down to the sweetest goodbye ever from Bruiser!) and can’t say enough good things about our stay here. The home is lovely – cozy and calming with the emphasis on the magnificent surroundings. The room overlooks the water and the mountains and the moon was full the night we stayed…it was tempting to not even sleep – just gorgeous!! We sat up late and talked by the fire and played tug of war with Bruiser (I have to agree with a previous guest — best dog in all of Scotland!) and listened to great music over a terrific breakfast after a morning walk to look at the ocean. Only wish we could have stayed longer, it’s truly a piece of paradise here!! Thank you Steve and Lea for a visit we’ll always remember 🙂

What a lovely stay we had with Steve and Lea. Their house is very comfortable and the location is just stunning. It was lovely to open the curtains in the morning and see such a great view. After seeing Ben Loyal in all different lights it is on our must do list for the future. Steve and Lea are very friendly and welcoming and recommended various things to do in the area. They clearly love where they live (with good reason) and share that enthusiasm. I musn’t forget to mention Steve’s breakfast – it definitely set us up for the day. We enjoyed the bread pudding on our way home by the way Steve – beautiful!

June 2015

Steve and Lea are really wonderful people. They welcomed me as a friend and make me feel like home. Their beautiful home is simple and full of beautiful things, some of them found in the nature, others made by theirs hands. The room was very nice, the bed very comfortable with soft down and pillows. The bathroom is really big and beautiful. I recommend this bed and breakfast 100% !!

Steve and Lee treated us as freinds not just guests. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and hospitality was genuine. As hosts they went way beyond what we would normally expect. They have done a GR8 job making their home a very comfortable BnB. The view from our room was amazing.

May 2015

“It was such a wonderful stay in Steve and Lea’s B&B. The house is very cozy and well-decorated with warm atmosphere. The owners are very hospitable, friendly and talented to make many wooden furnitures. And the view from window is really stunning! You could see the beautiful mountains, sea, bridge and beach, sometimes even seals and deers. If you love nature, animals, and craftsmanship, you’ll love this B&B without any doubts.”

May 2015

“Steve and Lea were fantastic, genuine, and hilarious hosts. We enjoyed our conversations late into the evening. Their home is an amazing portrait of their love for the highlands and their resolve to live the kind of life they want to live. The home is designed to focus on the amazing environment outside. Awe-inspiring! The views are amazing and if you want a real experience of the Scottish Highlands, this is a must-stop along your way. The room was very clean and comfortable. We left feeling that we have two very warm and dear friends in the highlands.”

May 2015

“We enjoyed our four night stay here. We were recovering from a nasty flu so we spent our time reading, enjoying the view and the warmth of the home. View amazing; own bathroom; very clean home; delicious breakfast with home made bread and conserves; warm throughout the home; Steve and Lea very welcoming; use of kitchen for dinners which was great; wide selection of walks from the door- thanks for a great stay.”

May 2015

“Steve and Lee are two of the most warm hearted and customer sensitive people we’ve met. Their home is a calming mix of ivories, bleached wood, corn whites and seagull greys. Toilet roll holder unsurpassed and has to be seen. Well worth a wayward exploration. Thank you both.”

May 2015

“Steve and Lea are enthousiastic, energetic, happy and nice, open and down to earth people. The pictures don’t lie! Inside and outside it’s lovely! Great scenery and nice ‘natural’ interior. Steve and Lea renovated the house by themselves and it looks great. It’s absolutely worth driving up to this end of Scotland! The views from the bedroom and main rooms are WOW!! The bed is amazing! Had a great night and woke up with great scenery when opening our eyes! Had a nice chat in the evening after a nice walk and a great meal in Tongue (a place with few inhabitants and 3! restaurants and a supermarket). We had a lovely morning walk to ‘the castle’, great scenery saw some wildlife and after that a nice breakfast with homemade bread, croissants and lots of fruit. By the way the greatest dog of Scotland lives here. Definitely worth going to”

April 2015

“Steve and Lea are great host and very knowledgeable. Steve was particularly good on the geography side. They recommended a few places for dinner and the one we chose was very good. The room and in particular the bed and the views were amazing. We even managed to spot multiple seals using Steve’s telescope. The breakfast was also very good and hearty. Cannot recommend this place enough. Look forward to coming back and staying for an extended period of time.”

April 2015

“Steve and Leah were really great hosts. We had a bit of bad luck and it was a bit foggy that day but the view was still so stunning. Sitting there in the morning and looking out of the window with this view amazing. Leah and Steve were so nice to us and I hope I get the chance to stay with them again. If you can try the self baked bread. The best bread I ever tasted in the UK!”

April 2015

“We were very lucky to be the first guests welcomed to Steve and Lea’s newly refurbished home. Their hospitality and attention to details has made our stay a very pleasant and memorable one. Our room has breathtaking views to the amazing landscape of the northern Scottish Highlands.”
