The idea was to spend much time outside cutting, sanding, building up new stock, getting some wood seasoning in the milder drier May weather and maybe getting some new products on the go……

May decided to put the dampers on those plans, we have played it by ear but although we have won in the sense we have spent little time watering the gardens, we have had little time where we could sand outside as we have no outside under-cover areas to work as yet, the byre roofs are another job waiting for dry weather!

We have been on some extra long dog walks with our dog and our guest dog – we also found some new walks and waterfalls.

We have added a new product and its page to this site “Tree Charms”

(even had sales enquiries already! Fantastic.)

I have just put some for sale on our Etsy shop this morning. I will put some for sale on this site soooon…..

We have been busy with our online networking, finding out how it all works and trying to build relationships with like-minded craftspeople.

We have also had some wonderful wildlife experiences, eagles over the house, close encounters with owls, a willow warbler, lapwing, cuckoo, our first highland weasel and Red deer spotting from bed , all very exciting.

We have had one night of Guests who had booked before we had taken the dates out of the calendar. They were a really great couple from Australia. We spent a lovely evening with them sitting around the fire, playing guitars and putting the world to rights.

We have made the best Rhubarb crumble, Lemon and Lime marmalade, Bread pudding and Home brewed Ginger Beer. Yay us!
